Visible Body Releases New Biology Mobile App

Visible Body, producer of worldwide best-selling iOS and Android human anatomy apps, has released Visible Biology, a mobile app that makes learning biology visual, interactive, and engaging. Visible Biology is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store and supports English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, and Italian.

With interactive 3D models and animations, students can visualize microscopic cellular processes, compare types of plants, dissect and explore animal anatomy, and more. With one tap, the 3D models can move beyond the screen into augmented reality.

More than flat illustrations, Visible Biology’s models offer a tactile exploration of biological processes. Interactive animations for DNA coiling, cellular respiration, and photosynthesis break down these complex processes into bite-sized pieces, and navigating these processes in 3D can offer a better understanding of spatial relationships. 

With Visible Biology, you can even conduct a virtual plant or animal dissection using just your phone or tablet—no preparation or cleanup required! In addition to dissectible animal models of a sea star, earthworm, frog, and pig, the app features models that illustrate:

  • Blood cells

All this content will soon be available as assets instructors can use for assignments and quizzes inside VB Courseware. Courseware is Visible Body’s platform for teaching and learning, which can be integrated with Canvas and Blackboard or used as a stand-alone LMS.
